PASTOR
Michael Ruptak
Pastor Ruptak (Mike) was born and raised in Colorado. He met his wife, Sherry, their first week of college and they became fast friends. They were married in 1971 and began serving the Lord early in their marriage. They began their family in 1974 with the birth of twin daughters, Laura and Tonya. In 1977 they were blessed with their son, Joshua. As their family grew they were further blest with three granddaughters and one grandson along with two great-granddaughters.
In 1976, Mike surrendered to God’s call on his life to preach the gospel. Even while he was furthering his theological education he began preaching and pastoring, taking his first pastorate in April of 1977. He has pastored continually since that time, shepherding three different congregations; one in Colorado, one in Arizona and here in Oregon at Hall Boulevard where he has been since April of 1990.
WORSHIP PASTOR
Isaac Marquez Huerta
Isaac was born and raised in the Portland area and started learning piano at the age of six. His love of Music and Jesus grew, and when he was 12 years old he began playing piano for churches, and accompanying his father in worship. In High School he received awards and recognition, performing with an excellent band, and later went to Portland State University to continue his studies in music production.
Isaac enjoys being with family, making music, hot cocoa, and road trips. One of Isaac’s favorite verses is Colossians 1:13 (AMP), “For He has rescued us and has drawn us to Himself from the dominion of darkness, and has transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son.” Isaac strives to incorporate praise and worship songs that focus on God, who He is, and what He has done for us.
CHURCH SECRETARY
Our Secretary, Jessica, was born and raised in Portland, and first attended Hall Boulevard Baptist church when she was just four years old. A few years later, she put her trust in Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized by Pastor Ruptak. In her teenage and young adult years she attended other churches, got her degree at Portland State University, and then went to Pacific University for a couple more years. She has worked in various fields including banking, hospitality, and marketing.
Several years ago, she returned to Hall Boulevard Baptist, the place she’s always felt was her church home. With a warm welcome from the Pastor that baptized her so many years ago, she knew this was where God wanted her to be. Her grandparents were the first generation to attend this church in the early 90’s. Jessica and her mother became members shortly after. Today, a fourth generation comes on Sunday’s to worship the Lord, as she brings her daughter to grow up in the same church she first came to know Jesus.
